Boardroom A/V System:
Our client desired a high quality, multipurpose AV system for their new executive boardroom. The system had to provide clear visibility of content for everyone in the room, and allow for each person to speak and be understood by all. The client also requested video teleconferencing. All of this to be seamlessly controlled through a wireless touch panel. In designing this system for our client we faced a number of challenges which included high ambient light, an extraordinarily long table and an intricate low ceiling restricting device installation.
We carefully considered these constraints and created a design solution that efficiently met their needs. For video, we provided a 2×2 video wall to combat the high ambient light and provide an appropriate screen size for the space. To ensure the participants at the far end of the table were able to view content, we also installed a secondary 80” display toward the rear of the room.
For audio, we installed retractable boundary microphones in the table that are extremely discreet. These microphones can retract flush into the table when not in use. Pushing on each one reveals just enough to expose the microphone, which the client liked.
For video teleconferencing, there is a pan-tilt-zoom camera mounted on the north wall that takes in the entire room. This, as well of the rest of the system, is controlled via the wireless touch panel.
There have been numerous meetings to date using this new system and we are pleased to report that our client has expressed total satisfaction with the system design and implementation.
